Crisis Stabilization

Crisis stabilization services are designed to be available when you need them. These services are helpful for periods of high stress and at critical points in the recovery process. Effective use of crisis stabilization services helps you maintain treatment progress and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations during a crisis period.

You can engage with our crisis stabilization services by calling our ACCESS team at 859-331-3292. Our crisis clinician will talk with you and, when necessary, meet with you at a safe location for an assessment and consultation. If your crisis situation seems manageable by an outpatient treatment approach, you may be offered short-term intensive therapy. Additionally, you may be referred to other needed NorthKey services or other services in the community. Our crisis services are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

NorthKey’s psychiatric services staff also provide a crisis medication clinic at certain office locations for clients who are referred by crisis stabilization clinicians. These referrals are made based upon the circumstances of your current medication treatment plan.

Additionally, NorthKey provides open access opportunities at our locations to accommodate individuals needing crisis services.  We offer the following open access opportunities:
