Crisis Services

Our crisis staff is available when you need us. We provide quick triage and response 24 hours per day, every day, for emergent/urgent needs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families within the Northern Kentucky region. Effective use of crisis services helps you maintain treatment progress and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations during a mental health crisis.

When you call us, we first gather information so we can accurately understand and assess the emergent needs. We will then work with you and your community supports to assure personal safety. We also seek to re-connect to your community-based services, if needed. Our staff helps develop a short-term action plan to reduce the immediate crisis.

We also assist you and your support system arrange for short-term stabilization services and supports to help de-escalate the crisis. These short-term services may include case management, respite care, behavioral intervention services and, when necessary, temporary housing.

NorthKey has Open Access at all office locations.  Individuals can be seen for an initial appointment when and where it is convenient for them.
