Michelle P Waiver (MPW) Services allow eligible individuals to receive payment support from Medicaid for an array of community-based supports and services. Individuals eligible for this payment support have a documented intellectual and developmental disability and meet state established criteria for participating in MPW.
MPW services supports can be utilized in collaboration with services offered through other State and Federal programs. This allows for each individual and family to participate in the development of their care plan with as much payment support flexibility as possible.
Services eligible for support by MPW include:
- Case Management
- Adult Day Training
- Adult Day Health
- Community Living Supports
- Behavioral Supports
- Personal Care
- Supported Employment
- Respite Care.
In January 2014, the Kentucky Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities established a waiting list for persons seeking to access MPW service payment support. NorthKey IDD program staff coordinates the MPW wait list process for Region VII (Northern Kentucky) and assists families in registering for the assessment and approval process. Service payment support levels are determined by the State and are modified periodically.
